Throughout the year, Carmichael Centre encourages good practice in the community and voluntary sector through provision of services that are built upon a number of core values including:

• Mutual support, cooperation, networking and sharing. We encourage a spirit of cooperation and sharing as a way of maximising the effective use of resources and as a means of building a more cohesive society.
• Diversity and equality. We welcome and promote diversity among the individuals and organisations we work with and support those who are disadvantaged to play an active role in their community.
• Quality. We endeavour to achieve this at all times, encouraging and facilitating good practice in the work of the Centre itself, its members and associates.

Delivering a suite of supports and services within Carmichael Centre, and on an outreach basis throughout Ireland, would not be possible without the support and professionalism of a committed team of people including participants on our Community Support Programme and Community Employment Schemes, staff, volunteers, board members and external trainers and specialists. It is a key strength of Carmichael Centre that so many people are willing to share their knowledge and skills with us to further the causes of our members, associates and the people working in community and voluntary groups countrywide.

In Carmichael Centre, we are deeply appreciative of the support we receive from the many people who access our services. I would also like to thank and acknowledge the assistance of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, the Health Service Executive, FÁS and the many trusts, foundations, corporations and individuals who support us in our work.

Our Centre has become a leading resource in the community and voluntary sector because at all times, we have striven to adapt to and innovate within the environment in which we all operate. Today, we continue to provide a focal point for like-minded people to collaborate together; a place where ideas and initiatives can be nurtured and strengthened. In the coming years, Carmichael Centre will continue to provide a nexus for the ongoing development of the sector and be a knowledge provider that is accessible to community and voluntary groups located throughout Ireland.
