Our Vision, Mission and Values underpins the work and development of the Carmichael Centre, and has enabled us to grow into a leading national resource and the largest shared services facility for voluntary and community organisations in Ireland.

Vision
Carmichael Centre envisages a future where charitable, community and voluntary organisations are empowered and enabled to help all people to have access to the range of supports they need to lead fulfilling lives.

Mission
Carmichael Centre is a dynamic learning environment which builds stronger charitable, community and voluntary groups nationwide by providing the shared services, targeted training, good practice and governance support they need to build effective and sustainable organisations.

Values
A set of core values informs the approach of Carmichael Centre for Voluntary Groups in achieving its Mission. These are:

  We believe in fostering a spirit of volunteering and self-help for the benefit of local communities and society in general.
• Professionalism
  We encourage and facilitate the development of good practice in the work of the Centre and the community and voluntary groups that we assist and interact with.
• Accountability and Transparency
  We emphasise good governance and are accountable to all stakeholders, members, funders, donors and other community and voluntary groups. We also encourage the same level of good governance, accountability and transparency in the community and voluntary groups that we interact with.
• Empowerment
  We welcome and promote diversity among the individuals and organisations we work with and support marginalised and less advantaged people to play an active role in their community and society.

  We work in a spirit of mutual support, cooperation and sharing, as a way of maximising the effective use of resources and the building of a more inclusive society.

  We respond to the needs of the individual organisations that we work with, by providing them with the range of services that best suits their specific needs.

Partnership is the Key
In the Carmichael Centre we have developed a partnership style of working with internal member charities, associates, service users, statutory agencies and subject matter experts. Working together, we have developed a suite of services that can accommodate organisations of varying sizes and needs. These services are delivered both within the Carmichael Centre and on an outreach basis within organisations located throughout Ireland.
