Office Space

Carmichael Centre provides cost effective office space to accommodate staff and volunteers of small voluntary and community groups. Office space is available on a shared desk basis for very small groups in addition to the availability of larger offices for groups with a number of staff and/or volunteers. Apart from the provision of office space, a wide range of support services are available, such as reception, clerical and mailroom services, administrative services, I.T. support, professional photocopy stations which include colour copiers, wireless presentation systems, private secure mailboxes, and many more supporting services.

We currently provide low cost office space to 47 resident member charities within two listed buildings, Carmichael House and Coleraine House. We can provide office accommodation and support in this way because of the outstanding contribution made by our Community Employment (CE) and Community Services Project (CSP) participants. Working in all key areas relating to office provision, such as reception and office services, housekeeping and catering, security, maintenance and caretaking, each participant provides an essential and supportive role to resident members. In addition, a number of CE participants have been seconded to several resident member groups and other small local organisations.

The office space and supports available to resident members have expanded in recent years, building on the enhanced skills developed by CE participants during their time with Carmichael Centre.

Organisations who wish to establish offices in Carmichael Centre must apply to become Resident Members.  Once office space has been allocated to a resident member, the full range of shared services and organisational supports may be accessed by that member. Resident members also have access to a walled and beautifully landscaped city garden at Carmichael House. The garden has proven very popular with people wanting to take a few quiet moments away from work as well as for charities who have utilised the garden for special events.
