Budgeting for Beginners

Target: Anyone involved in budgets and financial management without an accounting background


Trainer: Fiona Fagan has had a career in finance and organisational development for 20 years. She has worked in the voluntary sector for 15 years in a variety of senior management roles.


Content: This course gives practical guidance and support to plan and develop your organisations budget. We will review the benefits of budgeting and how the budget should be planned, and will seek to unpack some of the jargon that lies behind budgeting. We will examine how you can use budgets as a financial management tool for your organisation.


Outcomes: By the end of the course participants will be able to:


- Understand why they need a budget
- Prepare their budget in 10 steps
- Use their budget to manage their funds
