Robert specialises in the teaching of and research into the development of accounting standards and has lectured extensively within Ireland and Great Britain on the subject. He has also been a member of the Accounting Committee of Chartered Accountants Ireland for over 10 years whose role is to communicate the views of that body of proposed changes in accounting standards to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Accounting Standards Board (ASB).

Content
The course is designed to update delegates on the latest changes in financial reporting standards but, in particular, concentrate on the main issues in complying with the SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) on Charities published by the Charity Commissioners in England and Wales which is argued to be best practice in Ireland.
Outcomes
· Knowledge of latest developments in accounting standards
· Understand the main accounting issues in the Charity SORP and likely changes from switch to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
· Aware of how charities are applying the rules in practice
