Aidan Leavy

Short biography

Aidan Leavy is currently Director of International Service Ireland (ISI), a post he has held since June 2007. A graduate in social sciences, Aidan has extensive experience in local and international development at grassroots and management level. Before joining ISI, he spent 9 years working with indigenous Mayan organisations, local authorities and community groups in Central America. He first worked with the Agency for Personnel Services Overseas (APSO) and was an Organisational Capacity Builder with the Mayan Chorti tribe in Honduras post-hurricane Mitch and later worked as Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) programme.
